Convenience Center Locations and Hours
Ashe County has five convenience centers located throughout the county. The hours of operation for all convenience centers are Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The convenience centers are closed on Sundays and holidays.

Materials Accepted
The Ashe County convenience centers accept a variety of materials, including:
- Household waste
- Commercial waste
- Industrial waste
- Clean wood
- Dirt
- Brick
- Concrete
- Brush limbs
- Scrap metal
- Sheet metal
- Lawn mowers (must be free of gas and oil)
- Major appliances (washers, dryers, refrigerators, water heaters, dish washers, freezers, bicycles)
- Dead stock/carcasses
- Tires
Materials Not Accepted
The Ashe County convenience centers do not accept the following materials:
- Liquid waste, including paint and insecticides
- Hazardous waste
- Toxic waste
Disposal Fees
There is a disposal fee of $150.00 per household per year, $62.00 per ton commercial, and $52.00 per ton industrial. LCID is $42.00 per ton commercial/industrial.
Enforcement Penalty
North Carolina State law requires that you tarp your load while in transport to the Disposal Facility. Enforcement Penalty: Disposing of recyclable materials co-mingled with contents that amount to 25% or more by weight or volume will be charged according to the following schedule.
- First offense: written warning
- Second offense: Tipping fee of twice the current rate
- Subsequent offenses: Three times the current tipping fee.
