Landfill Information

The Municipality of Centre Hastings Landfill Site & Recycling Depot is located on 106968 Highway 7. It is open to the public during the following hours:

  • Monday: 8 am – 12 noon
  • Wednesday: 8 am – 12 noon
  • Saturday: 8 am – 4 pm

Please note that the landfill is closed on Sundays and statutory holidays.

Fees

The landfill charges fees for the disposal of certain materials. These fees are as follows:

  • Garbage Bags (Clear Bags only) untagged: $3.50 per bag
  • Garbage Bags (Clear Bags only) tagged: No Charge
  • Garbage Bag Tags: $3.50 per tag
  • Material weighing 40kg or less minimum charge: $5.50 per tonne
  • Clean Construction Demo Material: $160.00 per tonne
  • Shingles: $160.00 per tonne
  • Bulky Dry Waste Upholstery, carpets, mattress/box spring, couches; etc: $150.00 per tonne
  • Dry Trench mixed material (non-recyclable rubbish, lose garbage): $150.00 per tonne
  • Mattress and/or box spring, and/or upholstery furniture items flat charge ( plus per tonne rate: $25.00 each
  • Empty Propane Tanks (20lb/30lb tanks only): $5.00 each
  • Clean Leaves/Brush: Free
  • Refrigerator, freezer, air conditioner, dehumidifier ( Freon discharged and tagged) ( All Metal Free 2015): Free
  • Untagged appliances containing Freon: $40.00 surcharge
  • Scrap metal: Free
  • Tires: Free
  • Recyclable Blue Bin Material: Free
  • Electronics: Televisions, Computers, Printers etc.: Free

The Madoc dump accepts a wide range of materials, including:
