The 4th of July is a time to celebrate our nation’s independence with family and friends. But after all the festivities are over, you’re left with a lot of trash to dispose of. If you’re not sure what to do with it, don’t worry – we’ve got you covered.

Here’s what you need to know about dump hours on the 4th of July:

Landfill Operations:

The City of Stephenville operates a Type IV Landfill under TCEQ permit no. MSW-664.

Hours of Operation:

  • Summer Hours of Operation: June through August
    • Summer Hours: 7:30 A.M. – 3:00 P.M., Tuesday – Saturday
  • Standard Hours: 8:30 A.M. – 4:00 P.M., Tuesday – Saturday

Holiday Hours:

  • July 4th: Closed
  • Thanksgiving Day: Closed
  • Friday After Thanksgiving: Closed
  • Christmas Eve: Closed
  • Christmas Day: Closed
  • New Years Day: Closed

Rates:

  • Per Ton: $65
  • Minimum (up to 800 lbs): $25
  • Pull Off: $25 / Each
  • Inadequate Containment: Fee Doubles
  • Woodchip Mulch: $10 / Cubic Yard; or $20 / Pick-up Bed
  • Passenger Tires: $5 / Each
  • Truck Tires: $15 / Each
  • Tractor Tires: $50 / Each

Texas Disposal Systems:

Texas Disposal Systems is closed on the following holidays:

  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day
  • New Year’s Day

TDS is open and provides service as usual for all other holidays, including:

  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • Presidents Day
  • Easter
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day (4th of July)
  • Labor Day

  • Christmas Eve
  • New Year’s Eve

Holiday Schedule for 2024:

  • Thanksgiving Day: Thursday, November 28th – Service slides forward to Friday, November 29th. Friday service slides to Saturday, November 30th.
  • Christmas Day: Wednesday, December 25th – Services slide forward one day. Wednesday service slides to Thursday, December 26th. Thursday service slides to Friday, December 27th. Friday service slides to Saturday, December 28th.
  • New Year’s Day: Wednesday, January 1st – Services slide forward one day. Wednesday service slides to Thursday, January 2nd. Thursday service slides to Friday, January 3rd. Friday service slides to Saturday, January 4th.

Tips for Disposing of Your Trash on the 4th of July:

  • Check the holiday hours of your local landfill or waste disposal company before you go.
