Elma Landfill Site: Your Local Dump

The Elma Landfill Site is located at 7080 Road 166, Atwood, ON. It is the designated waste disposal facility for residents of North Perth, including Elma Township.

Hours of Operation:

  • Tuesday: 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM
  • Wednesday: 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM
  • Thursday: 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM
  • Friday: 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM
  • Saturday: 8:30 AM – 2:00 PM

Please note: The landfill is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Fees and Payment Options:

The Elma Landfill Site charges tipping fees for the disposal of waste. Fees vary depending on the type and quantity of materials being disposed of.

  • Landfill accounts (for North Perth property owners only)

Important: Transactions under $30 can be paid by cash, debit, or cheque at the time of disposal. Transactions over $30 can be left on account for property owners or paid immediately.

To access the Elma Landfill Site, you must provide proof that you are a current North Perth resident. Acceptable forms of proof include:

  • Current landfill account (available to North Perth property owners only)
  • Driver’s license with North Perth address
  • Current North Perth property tax bill

The Elma Landfill Site accepts a wide range of waste materials, including:

  • Tires

In addition to waste disposal, the Elma Landfill Site offers several programs to help residents responsibly manage their waste:

  • Bale Wrap Recycling: Bale wrap is no longer accepted at the landfill. Contact Switch Energy Corp. for collection and recycling services.
  • Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) Recycling: Clean and dry EPS packaging (commonly known as Styrofoam) is accepted for recycling.
  • Mattress & Box Spring Recycling: Mattresses and box springs can be recycled through Recyc-Mattress Inc. to extend the life of the landfill.
