Glen Tay Waste Site Hours
The Glen Tay Waste Site is open to the public during the following hours:
Summer Hours (Victoria Day Weekend to Thanksgiving Weekend)
- Monday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Wednesday: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Saturday: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Sunday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Winter Hours (Thanksgiving Weekend to Victoria Day Weekend)
- Monday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Wednesday: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Saturday: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Holiday Closures
The Glen Tay Waste Site is closed on the following holidays:
- Family Day (February)
- Easter Monday
- Canada Day (July)
- Remembrance Day (November)
- Christmas Day (December)
Acceptable Waste Materials
The Glen Tay Waste Site accepts a wide range of waste materials, including:
- Household garbage
- Brush
- Bulk/Construction materials
- Compostable materials

Unacceptable Waste Materials
The Glen Tay Waste Site does not accept the following waste materials:
- Hazardous waste
- Medical waste
- Ammunition and explosives

- Compact Florescent Light (CFL) bulbs and fluorescent tubes

Waste Disposal Fees
There are various fees associated with waste disposal at the Glen Tay Waste Site. These fees include:
- Bag Tag (Additional beyond the annual allocation): $1.00
- Composter: $50.00
- Recycling Bin: $10.00
- Illegal Dumping Fee: Minimum charge of $250, $125/hr thereafter
- Sorting at Site (for tagged bag improperly containing Recyclable or Compostable Waste): $5.00
- Brush Waste (Tree and bush clippings): $15.00/cubic yard
- Bulk Waste (Any commercial, industrial or institutional waste from a Business Establishment): $55.00/cubic yard
- Construction Waste (Discarded building material, resulting from erection, repair, demolition or improvement of buildings): $55.00/cubic yard
- Shingles: $130/cubic yard
- Untreated Lumber Waste (Unpainted, no pressure treated): $5.00/cubic yard
- Major Appliances & Large Household Furnishings Waste:
- Reusable furniture: No charge
- Large non-reusable furniture (e.g., couch, upholstered chair, table, mattress): $30.00
- Small non-reusable furniture (e.g., bookshelf, chair): $15.00
- Stove, washer & dryer: No charge
- Refrigerator (freon removed /licensed sticker applied): $5.00
- Refrigerator (with freon): $25.00
- Small Appliances (e.g., blender & toaster): No charge
- Propane Tanks (Large cylinders only): No charge
- Recyclable Waste (Excluding Battery, Electronic, Tire, Scrap Metal Waste): No charge
- Scrap Metal Waste: No charge
- Tires (With or without rim, all sizes): No charge
