Grinnell Iowa Brush Dump Hours: Everything You Need to Know
If you’re a resident of Grinnell, Iowa, and need to dispose of yard waste or brush, you’ll need to know the hours of operation for the city’s brush dump. The brush dump is located at 3973 20th Street, Grinnell, Iowa 50112.
The brush dump is open the following hours:
- Tuesday: 2 pm – 7 pm
- Wednesday: 2 pm – 7 pm
- Thursday: 2 pm – 7 pm
- Saturday: 10 am – 6 pm
- Sunday: 1 pm – 6 pm
The brush dump is closed on the following holidays:
- Independence Day (July 4th)
- Thanksgiving Day (November 28th)
Fees:
The brush dump uses a “pay as you throw” logic, placing the cost of operation on those who use the service. Fees are based on the quantities brought to the site.

Acceptable materials:
- Grass clippings
- Leaves
- Tree limbs/branches
Unacceptable materials:
- Household garbage
- Construction debris
- Hazardous waste
Tips:
- Please cover or otherwise secure your load.
- Payment in the form of cash or check is accepted at the site. Checks should be made out to City of Grinnell.
- For loads costing less than $20, cash is accepted in denominations of $10 or less.
- For loads costing $20 or more, exact payment is preferred. (No $50 or $100 bills are accepted.)
- If yard waste or brush being deposited is all contained in bags, the individual may pay either the price per bag or the price per vehicle.
