Ithaca City Dump Hours: Everything You Need to Know
If you’re a resident of Ithaca, NY, and need to dispose of trash or recyclables, you’ll need to know the hours of operation for the city dump. The Ithaca City Dump, also known as the Recycling and Solid Waste Center (RSWC), is located at 122 Commercial Ave, Ithaca, NY 14850.
Hours of Operation
The RSWC is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The TCRMM office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
What to Bring
When you visit the RSWC, you’ll need to bring your recyclables and trash sorted into separate containers. The RSWC accepts the following materials:
- Recyclables: Paper, cardboard, plastic bottles and jugs, metal cans, and glass bottles and jars.
- Trash: All other household waste, including food scraps, yard waste, and construction debris.
Fees
There is no charge to drop off recyclables at the RSWC. However, there is a fee to drop off trash. The fee is based on the weight of your trash.
Other Services
In addition to trash and recycling drop-off, the RSWC also offers the following services:
- Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) disposal: The RSWC accepts HHW for disposal on a limited basis. HHW includes items such as paint, batteries, and pesticides.
- ReBusiness Partners Program: The ReBusiness Partners Program is a partnership between the RSWC and local businesses that accept used items for reuse or recycling.
- Borrow-A-Bin: The Borrow-A-Bin program allows residents to borrow a bin for special events or projects.
- Tours and presentations: The RSWC offers tours and presentations on recycling and waste reduction.
