Burlington Township’s Compost Center and Recycling Drop-Off Site provides residents with a convenient way to dispose of various items, including recyclables, yard waste, and bulky items. Understanding the site’s hours of operation is crucial for planning your disposal needs.

Compost Center and Recycling Drop-Off Site Hours

The Compost Center and Recycling Drop-Off Site is open to Burlington Township residents only. Proof of residency is required at the gates.

• Wednesday: 11:30 AM – 3:00 PM
• Thursday and Friday: 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM
• Saturday and Sunday: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Acceptable Items

The Compost Center and Recycling Drop-Off Site accepts a wide range of items, including:

• Normal household recyclables (paper, cardboard, cans, glass, plastic bottles)
• Used motor oil and antifreeze
• Clothing donations
• Used books
• Appliances
• Recyclable batteries
• Paint
• Grass
• Leaves
• Limbs
• Metal
• Wood
• Treated wood
• Tires
• Bulky rigid plastics
• Computers (only flat-screen monitors)
• Televisions

Missed Recycling Collection

If you miss the recycling trucks or forget recycling day, you can drop off your recyclables at the Compost Center and Recycling Drop-Off Site during drop-off hours.

Other Disposal Options

Curbside Recycling

Burlington Township participates in the Burlington County Regional Recycling Program. Curbside recycling is collected every other Friday. Recycling carts must be placed curbside by 6:00 AM. For more information, visit the Burlington County Recycling webpage.

Branch Collection

Curbside branch collection is scheduled throughout the year. Branches must be placed to the curb line prior to the starting date scheduled in your section. For the collection schedule and more information, visit the Burlington Township website.

Leaf Collection

Curbside leaf collection is scheduled from October 23rd to December 31st. Leaves in bags or containers cannot be collected but can be taken to the Compost Center on Lake Avenue. For more information, visit the Burlington Township website.

Grass Clippings Collection

Curbside grass clipping collection is no longer provided. Grass clippings may be delivered to the Compost Center on Lake Avenue during drop-off hours. For more information, visit the Burlington Township website.
