Islip Town operates two main waste disposal facilities: the MacArthur Compost Facility and the Multi-Purpose Recycling Facility.

What Can You Dispose of at Islip Town Dumps?
The MacArthur Compost Facility accepts the following materials:
- Yard waste (grass, leaves, tree and brush material)
The Multi-Purpose Recycling Facility accepts the following materials:
- Recyclables (paper, cardboard, plastic, metal, glass)
- Hazardous materials (oil-based paint, waste oil, gasoline, aerosol cans, pool chemicals, fertilizer)
- Electronics
- Waste oil (up to 5 gallons)
- Auto/marine batteries
Fees for Using Islip Town Dumps
- MacArthur Compost Facility
- Residents: No charge for drop-off
- Islip Town Landscapers: $50 per ton
- Residential/Commercial Loading of Compost: $14 per yard
- Residential/Commercial Loading of Woodchips: $5 per yard
- Multi-Purpose Recycling Facility
- Residents: Free for drop-off of recyclables, hazardous materials, electronics, waste oil, and auto/marine batteries
- Non-Residents: $95 per ton for residential rubbish
- Construction and Demolition Debris: $140 per ton
Additional Information
- Both facilities are closed on Sundays and holidays.
- Cash is no longer accepted at either facility. All transactions must be made with credit or debit cards.
