Brookfield, CT residents, it’s time to declutter and dispose of your unwanted items responsibly! The town’s Residential Yard Refuse Disposal Center is now open for the season, providing a convenient and eco-friendly way to get rid of yard waste, brush, and other household items.

Dump Hours and Location

The Yard Refuse Disposal Center is located on Pocono Road, between the Town Hall and the Fire House. It is open Saturdays ONLY from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, from April 15th to December 9th, 2023.

What Can I Dispose of at the Dump?

The Yard Refuse Disposal Center accepts the following items:

  • Twigs
  • Small branches (up to 3 inches in diameter)
  • Brush
  • Leaves

Important: Grass clippings are NOT allowed.

Getting a Permit

To use the Yard Refuse Disposal Center, you will need to obtain a free permit. Permits are available at the Public Works office in Town Hall (100 Pocono Road) during weekdays from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. You can also get a permit directly at the Yard Refuse Disposal Center on Saturdays when it is open.

  • The Yard Refuse Disposal Center is for residential use only. Contractors are not permitted.
  • Only residents of Brookfield can use the Center.
  • The Center will be open to accept Christmas trees on the following Saturdays: January 6, 2024, and January 13, 2024.
