Bristol Transfer Station Hours of Operation
The Bristol Transfer Station is open to the public during the following hours:
- Weekdays: 7:30 am to 3 pm
- Saturdays: 8 am to Noon
The Transfer Station is closed on Sundays and holidays.
Fees
There are a few different fees associated with using the Bristol Transfer Station. These fees are as follows:
- Residential Annual Permit: $25
- Residential Dumping Fees: $100/ton or $10 for every 200 lbs dumped until the cap is reached. There is a cap limit of 2 tons (4000 lbs) per permit and a $10 minimum for every load dumped.
- Freon Items: $25/unit
- Tires: $8 per automobile tire / $13 per truck tire
- Mattresses and Box Springs: Free
- Waste Oil: $5 (up to 5 gallons per visit)
- Special Pick-Up Items: $35/item
- Special Pick-Up Items w/ Freon: $40/item
Accepted Materials
The Bristol Transfer Station accepts a wide variety of materials, including:
- Cardboard
- Mattresses
- Box springs
- Mixed recyclables
- Paper
- Compost (brush, leaves, etc.)

Additional Information
- To obtain an annual permit or day pass, you must provide proof of residency with a valid RI Driver’s License or ID indicating a Bristol, RI address, and a valid RI Auto Registration indicating the same Bristol, RI address as the state-issued ID.
- All vehicles entering the Transfer Station must possess a current and valid Residential Permit, affixed to the driver-side lower corner of the windshield, or be in possession of a current and valid Day Pass that is associated with the vehicle registered to the resident in possession of the Day Pass.
