The Ayr Recycling Centre accepts a wide range of materials for recycling and disposal, including:

Important Notes
- The Recycling Centre cannot accept paint with liquid paint still in the tins or tubs. Contact a specialist waste contractor for proper disposal.
- If paint tins or tubs are completely dried out, you can fill them with sand or leave the lid off to dry.
- Upholstered seating items can be disposed of at the Ayr household waste recycling center. This includes armchairs, electrical recliner chairs, futons, bean bags, sofa cushions, floor cushions, home office chairs, kitchen and dining room chairs, sofa beds, sofas, stools, and foot stools.
- Place upholstered seating items in the designated bin at the Ayr household waste recycling center.
- Many upholstered seating items are coated with a flame retardant containing persistent organic pollutants (POPs). Keeping upholstered seating separate from other waste items avoids contamination in the recycling process.
Safety and Security
- South Ayrshire Council HWRC at Heathfield Ayr operates Bodyworn CCTV for the safety of staff and the public.
- Recorded information may include voice recordings, images, and vehicle registrations.
- The information gathered will only be used for investigations and will be held for 30 days in accordance with South Ayrshire Council Data Protection Law.
