Blackford Trash Dump Hours of Operation
The Blackford Container Collection Site is open to Blackford County residents only. The hours of operation are as follows:

The site is closed from December through March.
What is Accepted at the Blackford Trash Dump
The Blackford Container Collection Site accepts the following items:
- Household hazardous waste
- Refrigerators and freezers
- Air conditioners
- Dehumidifiers
- Stoves and microwaves
- Washers and dryers
- Water heaters
- Monitors, CPUs, and printers
- Fluorescent lamps and PCB ballasts
- Tires (up to 10 car tires are free, $2 for each additional tire; up to 6 truck/semi tires are free, $3 for each additional tire; farm tires or tires over 54 inches are $85)
- Smoke detectors
- Expired medicine
- Household batteries and car batteries
- Cleaning agents
What is Not Accepted at the Blackford Trash Dump
The Blackford Container Collection Site does not accept the following items:
- Empty containers/trash
- Radioactive waste
- Propane tanks
- Biological hazards/infectious waste
- Explosives/fireworks
- Entertainment electronics
- Whole farm tires (may be cut up into quarters)
- Standard size Televisions ($20)
- Large screen TV ($25)
How to Transport Household Hazardous Waste Safely
When transporting household hazardous waste, it is important to follow these safety tips:
- Leave items in their original containers.
- Tighten caps and lids securely.
- Never mix chemicals.
- Load items separately and pack them tightly.
- Do not smoke while handling waste.
- Notify emergency personnel immediately if you have an accident while transporting waste.

- The Blackford Container Collection Site is located at 1025 S. Willmann Rd, Hartford City, IN 47348.
- The fee for using the site is $3 for a minimum charge, $15 for a cubic yard of residential waste, $20 for a cubic yard of construction waste, $10 for a 55-gallon barrel, $10 for a twin/full mattress, $20 for a queen/king mattress, $10 for a cushion chair, $15 for a couch, $20 for a hide-a-bed, and $5 for a propane tank.
- The site does not accept paint, flammable products, yard waste, antifreeze, any hazardous materials, window panes, mirrors, windshields, waxed cardboard, yard/farm chemicals, or concrete.
