Buckland Transfer Station Hours

The Buckland Transfer Station is open to the public on the following days and times:

• Tuesday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Saturday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Please note that the Transfer Station is closed on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

Buckland Transfer Station Fees

• Trash Bag Stickers: $2.00 each
• 15-gallon Trash Bags: $12.50 for 10 bags
• Appliances (ranges, stoves, ovens, hot water heaters, compactors, washers, dryers, dishwashers, gas grills without propane tanks): $10.00 each
• Small Propane Tanks: $2.00 each
• Large Propane Tanks: $5.00 each

Acceptable Items at Buckland Transfer Station

The following items are accepted at the Buckland Transfer Station:

• Trash: All trash must be disposed of in a trash bag displaying a Town of Buckland green trash bag sticker.
• Recyclable Materials: Clean and dry paper and cardboard, junk mail, boxboard, newspapers/inserts, magazines/catalogs, paper bags, white and colored office paper, corrugated cardboard, paperbacks and phone books, glass bottles/jars, aluminum, tin/steel cans and lids, aluminum foil, milk and juice cartons (tent top), drink boxes, plastic bottles, jars, tubs, and microwave trays/containers.
• Metal: All types of metal, ferrous, non-ferrous.

Unacceptable Items at Buckland Transfer Station

The following items are NOT accepted at the Buckland Transfer Station:

• Hazardous Waste
• Electronics (Stereo Sets, Televisions, Refrigerators)
• Construction and Debris (Demo) and Salvage Materials
• Furniture including chairs, tables, sofas, rugs
• Tree Stumps
• Animal Carcasses

Additional Information

• Proof of residency is required to obtain a Transfer Station sticker.
• Stickers are available at the Town Hall Tuesday – Thursday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
• Stickers must be displayed on the lower left or rear window of your vehicle.
• An attendant will monitor stickers at the Transfer Station; NO ONE will be allowed to enter the Transfer Station without a STICKER.
• Payment for appliances and propane tanks can be made online or at the Transfer Station (CHECK ONLY).
• Shirts and Shoes are required to be worn at the Transfer Station.
• No removal of items from Transfer Station property – person will be prosecuted.
• No smoking is allowed at the Transfer Station.
• Children and/or pets must be confined to the vehicle for their safety.
