The Scott Area Landfill is open to the public during the following hours:
Winter Hours (October-April)
- Monday-Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Summer Hours (May-September)
- Monday: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Tuesday-Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

From Davenport, take River Drive west past the I-280 interchange to the next intersection with a stoplight. Turn left (south) onto Y-48, and the Landfill is 3 miles down on the left-hand side of the road.
Accepted Materials
The Scott Area Landfill accepts a wide range of materials for disposal, including:

- Yard waste (grass, leaves, logs)
- Clean asphalt shingles
- Automotive batteries
- Oil, oil filters, and antifreeze (up to 25 gallons per month for residents)
- Electronics (single items for Scott County residents)
Note: Liquids and hazardous materials, such as paints, pesticides, and automotive fluids, are not allowed in the landfill. You can dispose of these items through the Waste Commission’s Household Hazardous Material facility.
Fees
The fees for disposing of waste at the Scott Area Landfill vary depending on the type and quantity of material. Here is a general breakdown:
- Household waste: $45 per ton
- Construction and demolition debris: $30 per ton
- Yard waste: $15 per ton
- Clean asphalt shingles: $10 per ton
- Automotive batteries: No charge
- Oil, oil filters, and antifreeze: No charge for residents (up to 25 gallons per month)
- Electronics: No charge for Scott County residents (single items)
Additional Information
- The Landfill is closed on all major holidays.
- A Hi-Vis safety vest is required to be worn by all customers unloading at the working face.
- Loads requiring special handling (such as railroad ties and utility poles) must be dropped off by 2:30 PM.
- Waste generated outside Scott County will not be accepted.
