East Haven Dump Hours: What You Need to Know

Are you a resident of East Haven looking to dispose of household waste, brush, or other items? The town landfill is a convenient option for residents to get rid of unwanted items. Here’s everything you need to know about the East Haven dump hours, what you can bring, and how to pay for your disposal.

Landfill Hours

The East Haven landfill is open to residents every Friday and Saturday, except for holidays. The hours of operation are 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.

What Can You Bring to the Landfill?

The East Haven landfill accepts a variety of household waste and debris, including:

• Brush and scrap wood
• Appliances and household debris
• Miscellaneous items (broken glass, fencing, grills, lawn mowers, scrap metal, tools, tires)
• Construction and demolition materials (building permit required)

How to Pay for Disposal

Payments are accepted at the town landfill for those vehicles requiring payment to enter. The landfill rates are as follows:

• Automobiles, SUVs, and passenger plate vans: $25.00
• Single rear wheel axel pickup trucks and commercial plate cargo vans: $50.00
• Pickup trucks with dual rear wheel axels and/or modified beds, and trailers (less than 12,000 pounds): $75.00
• Vehicles larger than pickup trucks, including dump trucks and masonry trucks, and trailers (over 12,000 pounds): $150.00

Proof of Residency

To use the East Haven landfill, you must be a resident of East Haven and the materials must come from an East Haven residence. You will need to provide proof of residency in the form of a valid Connecticut driver’s license or a property tax bill at the time of pass purchase.

Other Important Information

• The registration of the vehicle being used must be presented at the time of pass purchase.
• If disposing of building materials, a building permit must be presented at the time of pass purchase and when going to the landfill.
• The transfer station attendant will control the total number of vehicles and residents within the property at any one time. Be aware that lines may result as they handle the backlog of resident materials.
