Ephratah Transfer Station Hours
The Ephratah Transfer Station is open to the public during the following hours:
- Monday: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Thursday: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Saturday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

The Ephratah Transfer Station accepts a wide range of waste materials, including:

Permit Requirements

Additional Information
- The maximum trailer size allowed at the transfer station is 5′ x 8′.
- Dump trucks and trailers are not permitted.
- Freon-containing units (refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers) must be taken to the Department of Solid Waste at 847 Mud Road, Johnstown. There is a $5 fee for each unit.
- Fluorescent light bulbs or tubes can be disposed of at the Department of Solid Waste at no charge.
- Mercury-containing thermostats can be disposed of at the Department of Solid Waste at no charge.
- Household Hazardous Waste is collected by the Department of Solid Waste in August of odd-numbered years. Watch for announcements for specific dates and locations.
- Tires (off the rim) can be disposed of at the Department of Solid Waste for a fee:
- Up to 16″: $3.00
- 16.5″ – 21″: $5.00
- 21.5″ – 24″: $13.00
- Bulk tires (20 or more) or tires over 24.5″: $350/ton
- There is no charge for appliances.
