Landfill Hours
The Hancock County Sanitary Landfill is located at 3763 County Road 140, Findlay, OH 45840. The landfill is open to the public Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm and Saturday from 7:00 am to 11:30 am. The landfill is closed on Sundays and holidays.
Fees
The landfill has a minimum charge of $15.00, which covers the disposal of up to 800 pounds of waste. After 800 lbs., a charge of $1.50 per 100 lbs. will apply. The cost per ton for municipal trash (generated within Hancock County) is $37.75, which includes fees.
Accepted Materials
The landfill accepts a wide variety of materials, including:
- Household trash
- Construction debris
- Asphalt shingles
- Drywall
- Furniture
- Tires (additional fee applies)
The landfill does not accept the following materials:
- Hazardous waste
- Infectious waste
- Yard waste
- Brush
Other Information
In addition to the information above, here are some other things to keep in mind about the landfill:
- All loads must be covered or secured while en route to and returning from the landfill. The fee for an uncovered or unsecured load is $25.00.
- The landfill has a recycling facility where you can recycle a variety of materials, including paper, plastic, and metal.
- The landfill also has a compost facility where you can drop off yard waste and other organic materials.
