Visitor Information
- For health and safety reasons, Waste Management Attendants are not permitted to assist customers with the unloading of materials. Pre-arrange assistance to help unload heavy material, if needed.
- Secure all open loads with a tarp or rope.
- Customers are expected to sort their loads by material type. Pre-sort loads prior to delivery to the HWMS for quick and easy unloading.
- Bricks, concrete, and rubble with rebar or wire mesh, or pieces larger than 1 square foot, cannot be accepted for recycling. These items are accepted as garbage at the tipping fee of $194/tonne.
- Clean fill, woodchips, bricks, concrete and rubble material must be removed from bags or containers prior to disposal.
- For tree trunks and stumps to be accepted as yard waste they cannot be larger than 2m long and 1m diameter (6ft x 3ft).
- Remove all fluids (gas, oil, etc.) from gas powered equipment such as lawnmowers.
- Oil drums and tanks must be empty and cut in half.
