Haviland Waste Disposal Site
The Haviland Waste Disposal Site is one of two waste disposal sites that are open and available to approximately 10,000 Sault North residents. The site is located in Havilland Township and is owned by the MNR and operated by an independent contractor.
Hours of Operation
The Haviland Waste Disposal Site is open on the following days and times:
- Wednesday: 10 am – 5 pm
- Saturday: 10 am – 5 pm
- Sunday: 10 am – 5 pm
The site is closed on major holidays.
Fees
The following fees apply to the Haviland Waste Disposal Site:
- 1 green garbage bag: $2.50
- 1/2 ton truck load: $31.00
- Two half-ton trucks or 1 ton: $62.00
- Tandem dump truck: $125.00
- Triaxle dump truck or 20-yard roll-off: $150.00
Materials Accepted
The Haviland Waste Disposal Site accepts the following materials:
- Clean tin cans & pop cans
- Reusable items for second-hand stores (e.g., lawn mowers, bicycles, household goods)
- Plastic (#1 and #2 only with lids removed)
- Steel and aluminum cans
- Scrap metal (including cars)
Additional Information
- Visitors to the Haviland WDS are now responsible for sorting their recyclable materials. Bins are in place to collect plastic, steel, and aluminum cans.
