Hunterdon County Transfer Station Hours
The Hunterdon County Transfer Station is open to the public on Saturdays only, from 10:30 am to 12:45 pm. Please note that the station is closed on all major holidays.
Accepted Materials
The Hunterdon County Transfer Station accepts a wide range of bulky waste items, including:
- Basement cleanup (refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, etc.)
- Mattresses and box springs
- Attic cleanup
- Garage cleanup
- Yard cleanup (no leaves or grass clippings)
- Construction debris (four-foot sections or less only)
- Appliances (stoves, hot water heaters, washer/dryers, microwaves)
The station also accepts certain recyclable materials, such as:
- Paper and cardboard
- Plastic bottles and jugs
- Metal cans
- Glass bottles and jars
Fees
The Hunterdon County Transfer Station charges a fee for the disposal of bulky waste. The fees are as follows:
- Sedans: $22
- SUV, Vans, Trucks: $32
- Trailers: $10
The station accepts cash only, so please come prepared.
Prohibited Materials
The Hunterdon County Transfer Station does not accept the following materials:
- Liquids
- Household trash
- Tires
- Hazardous waste
- Asbestos
Residential Cleanup Program
In addition to the regular bulky waste disposal services, the Hunterdon County Transfer Station also offers a Residential Cleanup Program. This program allows residents to dispose of large quantities of bulky waste, such as furniture, appliances, and construction debris, for a flat fee. The fee for the Residential Cleanup Program is $100 per ton.
