Hours of Operation

The Huntington WV City Dump is open:

  • Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
  • Third Saturday of each month: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM

The dump is closed on all holidays.

What is Accepted and Not Accepted

The following items are accepted at the Huntington WV City Dump:

  • Trash
  • Yard waste
  • Brush (must be 6 inches in diameter or less and cut into 4-foot sections)

The following items are not accepted at the dump:

  • Tires
  • Car batteries
  • Motor oil or petroleum products
  • Appliances with refrigerant (such as refrigerators, air conditioners, freezers, etc.)
  • Any containers marked as hazardous waste
  • Fuel/gas tanks
  • Paint cans with liquid paint

Fees

There is no fee for residents of Huntington to dump trash or yard waste at the city dump. However, there is a fee for dumping brush. The fee is $5 per cubic yard.

Directions

The Huntington WV City Dump is located at:

  • South High Street in Guyandotte

To get to the dump, take 5th Ave towards into Guyandotte via the bridge and  turn right onto Buffington St, then turn left onto 8th Ave. 8th Ave turns into South High St at the rail road crossing.  Stay on South High St (keep left) for approximately 0.7 miles.  The facility is on the right.

Additional Information

  • Residents may dump one (1) pickup truck load per month (every 30 days) of trash/yard waste at the landfill drop off site.
  • The vehicle used to drop off trash/yard waste must have a West Virginia license plate.
  • The resident must show a driver’s license that they are a current resident inside the city limits of Huntington.
  • Copy of your City of Huntington refuse fee bill.
