Bluegrass Regional Transfer Station
The Bluegrass Regional Transfer Station is a public-private partnership between Lexington and Waste Services of the Bluegrass, Inc. It offers a convenient location for disposing of various waste items, including:

Additional Information
- Residents may dispose of up to one pickup truckload of household waste at the Bluegrass Regional Transfer Station.
- Bulky items, such as mattresses and furniture, are accepted at both the Bluegrass Regional Transfer Station and Collection and Recycling Centers.
- Up to four tires off the rim are accepted at the Bluegrass Regional Transfer Station and select Collection and Recycling Centers.
- Lexington County residents can recycle most appliances at no cost by taking them to Environmental Recycling at 3899 Winchester Road.
- The City of Lexington offers free trash disposal days for non-hazardous household waste. These events are held from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Bluegrass Regional Transfer Station. The upcoming free trash disposal days in 2024 are January 13, April 13, July 13, and October 12.
