Linden Dump Hours

The Linden DPW Complex is open for residential drop-offs Monday through Saturday from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. The facility is closed on Sundays and major holidays.

Linden Dump Rules

  • All non-commercial Linden residents are allowed to dump a limited amount of bulk trash.
  • Residential dumping may be done 1 day per week, per individual, vehicle, or address.
  • The same vehicle cannot be used by multiple individuals; the same individual cannot use multiple vehicles. The same address cannot use multiple individuals or vehicles.
  • On the day that you go to dump, you may come 2 times during that day. You cannot dump again until the following week. You may not come to the public works yard a second day of the same week in which you dumped.
  • Commercial/Business trash is Prohibited! (Residential trash only)
  • Building Contractor renovation material is Prohibited!
  • Proof of Identification Required! (Driver’s License or tax bill will be checked for residency)

Permitted Materials

The following items are permitted at the Linden dump:

  • Lumber (no longer than 6 ft., no nails, screws or hardware)
  • Toys, furniture, large or small appliances
  • Building materials, shingles, sheetrock, etc. (not to exceed two 10 gallon pails)
  • Window glass, mirrors, dishware
  • Carpeting/padding or unusable clothing
  • Concrete, asphalt, brick and block, each item must be separated. (not to exceed two 10 gal. pails)
  • Passenger car/ SUV tires (WITHOUT rims)

Recyclables

  • Glass – Bottles/jars (clean and empty)
  • Paper – Newspaper, magazines, junk mail, office paper, cardboard
  • Metals – Aluminum and tin/steel cans
  • Plastic – All items with the recycling logo numbers 1 and 2
  • Steel/ iron/ aluminum items- bed frames, storm window frames, deck chair frames, etc.

Large white goods

  • Refrigerators
  • Stoves
  • A/C units
  • Tire rims, etc.

Not Permitted Materials

The following items are not permitted at the Linden dump:

  • Motor/Cooking Oil (Accepted at the Recycling Center)
  • Grass Clippings (Accepted at the Recycling Center)
  • Leaves (Accepted at the Recycling Center)
  • Flammables: Propane tanks, gasoline/kerosene
  • Paints
  • Household Hazardous Waste: asbestos, solvents/cleaners, thermostats, pesticides/herbicides, anti-freeze, pool chemicals
  • Medical Waste: Needles, syringes
  • Ammunition
  • Dirt
  • Household Garbage
  • Closed Containers/Liquids
  • Shipping Material (Bubble Wrap, Styrofoam, Packing Peanuts)

  • Computers
  • TV’s
  • Monitors
  • Laptops
  • Tablets
  • Printers
  • Copy/Fax Machines

The Linden Recycling Center is located at 2 Donaldson Place (Off of West Elizabeth Ave). The hours of operation are:

  • Monday-Friday (7:00am-2:30pm)
  • Saturdays (8:00am-2:00pm)
