Plympton Transfer Station Hours
The Plympton Transfer Station is open to residents during the following hours:
- Tuesdays and Thursdays: 9:00 AM – 1:30 PM
- Saturdays: 9:00 AM – 4:45 PM
- Sundays: 9:00 AM – 11:45 AM
The Transfer Station is closed on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and holidays.
Sticker Sales
To use the Plympton Transfer Station, residents must purchase a sticker for their vehicle. Stickers are sold at the Highway Department office, located at 23 Palmer Road.
The cost of a sticker is as follows:
- Resident: $65.00
- Senior Citizen (65+ by March 31): $45.00
- Second sticker: $10.00
- Recycle Only Sticker: $30.00 (Allows use of ONLY recycle areas – NO household refuse)
Residents are limited to two stickers per household. Proof of residency may be required to purchase stickers.
Acceptable Materials
The Plympton Transfer Station accepts the following materials:
- Household trash (must be in Town bags)
- Cardboard and paper
- Commingles (glass bottles, #1 thru #7 plastic bottles)
- Scrap metal
- Bulk items (fees apply)
- Electronics (fees apply)
- Appliances (fees apply)
- Mattresses & Box Springs (fees apply)
- Tires (fees apply)
- Clothing & Shoes
- Universal Waste (batteries, lightbulbs, mercury products)
- Returnable bottles & cans

Materials Not Accepted
The Plympton Transfer Station does not accept the following materials:
- Demolition, Commercial or construction debris
- Brush, logs, stumps
- Compost materials
- Waste Oil
- Hazardous Waste (chemicals, medical and nuclear waste, antifreeze, solvents, gasoline, naphtha, Oil based paints etc.)
Additional Information
- The Plympton Transfer Station is a PAYT (Pay as you throw) community. All Household trash must be in Town bags for disposal. Bags are sold at various locations in town.
- Recycling is required. The more you recycle, the more you can reduce your disposal costs.
