Polk County Landfill and Transfer Station Hours

North Central Transfer Station

Directions to North Central Transfer Station and Landfill

• From I-4: Take exit 41 for FL-570 West toward Auburndale. Continue onto FL-570 W, take exit 17 to merge onto US-92 W, turn south onto Payne Street, and finally turn east onto E County Road 542/K-Ville Ave.
• From FL-33: Head South on FL-33/Lakeland Hills Blvd., turn east onto E Memorial Blvd/US-92 E, turn south onto Reynolds Road, and finally turn east onto E County Road 542/K-Ville Ave.
• From US-98 N (Bartow Highway): Turn east onto FL-540 E/Winter Lake Road, turn north onto Reynolds Road, and finally turn east onto E County Road 542/E Main St/K-Ville Ave.
• From US-17: Turn north onto Spirit Lake Road, turn west onto Thornhill Road, and finally turn west onto E County Road 542/K-Ville Ave.

Accepted Materials and Fees

The North Central Transfer Station and Landfill accept a wide range of materials, including:

• Garbage/Trash (Class 1): $36.50 per ton
• Yard Trash: $22 per ton
• Construction and Demolition Debris: $36.50 per ton
• Refrigerators and A/C Units (White Goods) without Freon: $27.50 per unit
• Refrigerators and A/C Units (White Goods) with Freon: $50.00 per unit
• Standard Passenger Vehicle (on-road) Tires (with or without rim): $300.00 per visit (up to 24 tires)
• Equipment/Off-road Tires: $175.00 per tire
• Scrap Metals: $27.50 per ton
• Special Handling Materials: $175.00 per ton
• Mobile Homes: $495.00 per side

Unacceptable Materials

Please note that the following materials are not accepted at the North Central Transfer Station or Landfill:

• Bulk liquids
• Pressurized tanks
• Commercial quantities of liquids (55-gallon drums)
• Ammunition/Explosives
• Biological waste
• Asbestos
• Radioactive waste

Additional Information

• Cash, check, debit, or credit cards are accepted forms of payment.
• All incoming loads are subject to a $10 minimum fee and must be secured.
• No waste generated from outside Polk County will be accepted without prior written approval from the Board of County Commissioners.
• Smoking is strictly prohibited while at the landfill.
