Souris Dump Location and Hours
The Souris dump, also known as the Waste Transfer Site / Eco-Centre / Recycling Drop-Off, is located at:
100 2nd Street South
Souris, MB R0K 2C0
The dump is open to residents and ratepayers of Souris-Glenwood only. All others that require waste disposal should contact their local Municipal Corporations.
Summer Hours (April 1 – September 30):
- Monday: 7 am – 11 am
- Wednesday and Friday: 2 pm – 8 pm
- Saturday: 10 am – 5 pm
- Sunday: 1 pm – 5 pm
Winter Hours (October 1 – March 31):
- Monday: 7 am – 11 am
- Wednesday and Friday: 12 noon – 5 pm
- Saturday: 10 am – 5 pm
- Sunday: 1 pm – 5 pm
Accepted Materials at the Souris Dump
The Souris dump accepts a wide range of waste materials, including:
- Household waste
- Construction and demolition debris
- Yard waste
- Recyclables
Please note: All Contractors or Commercial construction material must be disposed of at Municipal Waste Management Regional Landfill, located 5 miles north on PTH#250 1.5 miles east. The landfill is restricted to commercial traffic only.
Recycling at the Souris Dump
The Souris dump encourages recycling to reduce waste and protect the environment. The following items are accepted for recycling:
- Newspaper
- Flyers
- Telephone Books
- Magazines
- Catalogues
- Boxboard / Cardboard – Please flatten
- Aluminum Cans
- Steel/Tin Cans
- Glass Jars/Bottles
- PET plastic (pop bottles)
- HDPE plastic (milk jugs)
- 4, 5 & 7 plastic (polystyrene)
- Juice & Milk Cartons
- Electronic Equipment (TVs, VCRs, Radios, etc)
Smaller items can be put curbside, separate from other recycling materials. Larger items must be taken to the depot drop off.
Additional Information
- Household batteries can be dropped off at Souris Home Hardware during normal business hours. More info can be found here at Call2Recycle’s website.
- Needles/sharps can be dropped off to either pharmacy, or the local Health Centre.
- Please be respectful of the rules of the transfer site. The municipalities take great pride in compliance of all environmental rules and regulations and in operating a safe transfer site for their residents.
