Accepted Materials
Our convenience centers and landfill accept a wide range of materials, including:
- Household garbage
- Residential brush
- Construction and demolition waste
- Metals
- Cans
- Aluminum
- Plastics #1 & #2 (no plastic bags)
- Glass
- Paper
- Cardboard
- Used motor oil
- Used cooking oil
Special Waste Accepted
The Landfill Convenience Center also accepts the following special waste:
- Residential automotive batteries
- Residential latex-based paint
- Residential anti-freeze
- Residential automotive tires (limit: 6 per household per day)
Fees and Restrictions
Convenience Centers:
- Residents may bring up to 3 cubic yards of waste per day.
- Proof of residency is required.
- Commercial waste is not accepted.
Landfill:
- Residents may bring up to 5 tons of waste per year at no charge.
- Proof of residency is required.
- Commercial waste is accepted at a fee.
Additional Information
- All convenience centers and the landfill are closed on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, December 23rd (early closure at 3 PM), Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
- Please remember to “Lock Down Your Load” and tarp your pickup trucks and trailers when transporting trash and recycling.
- Tennessee has a Tarp Law.
