The Cockeysville dump, officially known as the Central Acceptance Facility (CAF), is a popular destination for residents of Baltimore County to dispose of their trash and recyclables. The dump is typically open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., but it has special hours on holidays.
On Christmas Eve, the Cockeysville dump will be open from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.
This is a shorter operating window than usual, so it’s important to plan your trip accordingly. If you need to dispose of a large amount of trash or recyclables, you may want to consider visiting the dump on another day.
Here are some other things to keep in mind when visiting the Cockeysville dump on Christmas Eve:
- The dump may be more crowded than usual, so be prepared for delays.
- You may need to pay a fee to dispose of certain items, such as tires or appliances.
- The dump does not accept hazardous waste, such as batteries or paint.
For more information about the Cockeysville dump, including holiday hours and fees, please visit the Baltimore County website.

Additional Tips for Disposing of Trash and Recyclables
- If you can, try to reduce the amount of waste you produce. This can be done by recycling, composting, and buying less packaging.
- When you do need to dispose of trash, make sure to sort it properly. Recyclables should be placed in the blue bins, and trash should be placed in the black bins.
- If you have any questions about what can and cannot be recycled, please visit the Baltimore County website or call the Department of Public Works at 410-887-2000.
