The Recycling Center accepts a wide range of items, including:
- Mixed Paper/Cardboard: Paper bags, catalogs, junk mail, magazines, phone books, paper egg cartons, newspapers, paperboard, office paper, computer paper, envelopes, carbonless paper, paperback books (hardcover books accepted but covers must be torn off)
- Plastics: Labeled 1, 2, and 5 (no black, gray, or dark blue containers)
- Glass: Glassware, ceramics, plates, pottery, food/beverage containers, porcelain
- Waste Oil Fluids: Oil filters, used motor oil, kerosene, transmission fluid, hydraulic fluid, diesel fuel, heating oil
- Light Iron Scrap: Metal, washers, dryers, ovens, grills, dishwashers, large metal items
- Yard Waste: Leaves, grass, brush
- Batteries: Automobile, boat, motorcycle, lawn tractor, lithium, NiCad, rechargeable
- Tin/Steel/Aluminum Cans: Clean foil products, empty aerosol cans, air-dried empty paint cans
- Construction/Demolition Debris: Sheetrock, insulation, wooden storm windows, shingles, carpeting, vinyl siding/flooring, plastic/Formica counter tops, horsehair plaster, painted/vinyl fencing, PVC/plastic pipe, pressure treated wood, rugs, tubs, toilets, sinks, wood/masonry debris
Fees
For construction/demolition debris, the following fees apply:
- Residents: $0.10 per pound, with a $5 minimum charge per load
- Contractors: $0.15 per pound, with a $25 minimum charge per load
Other Items
In addition to the items listed above, the Recycling Center also accepts:
- Antifreeze
- Corrugated cardboard
- Mercury devices (thermometers and thermostats)
- Tires/inner tubes
- Propane tanks (1 lb. tank free, $5 for 20 lbs.)
- Cell phones
- Fluorescent and CFL bulbs (4 ft. bulbs only)

- Checks and credit cards are accepted for payment. There is a 2.99% fee for credit card use.
