Dump Locations and Hours
Granite County operates two container facilities for waste disposal:

Philipsburg Transfer Site

Fees and Charges
Granite County charges fees for waste disposal based on the type of waste and the quantity. Here’s a breakdown of the fees:

Base Fees:
- One whole unit (2,000 lbs.): Amount set by Granite County Resolution 2021-4
- This fee is imposed on each inhabitable structure within the district and is included in property taxes.

Overages:
- Overages for account holders: Same per-ton base rate set by the County Commission.

Non-Account Holders:
- $0.20 per pound on a “pay as you go” basis.

Options for Non-Account Holders Who Own Land in Granite County:
- Pay the base rate for a whole unit (2,000 lbs.)
- Pay $0.20 per pound on a “pay as you go” basis.

“Pay as You Go” Customers:
- Must pay by cash or check at the time of disposal.
- Minimum charge: $7.50.
Accepted Materials
The Granite County dumps accept a wide range of materials, including:
- Household waste
- Business waste
- Construction waste
- Auto tires
- White goods appliances
- Salvage metals
- Automotive batteries
- Used motor oil
Materials Not Accepted
The following materials are not accepted at the Granite County dumps:
- Human waste
- Syringes
- Asbestos
- Hazardous materials
- Trailer loads (without prior notice)
Additional Information
- Recycling: There is currently no recycling program available through the Granite County Solid Waste Program.
- Hazardous Waste: A Hazardous Waste Activity Release of Liability Form must be signed by all customers when disposing of construction materials.
- Unpaid Fees: Unpaid fees owing for more than 90 days will be subject to a tax lien.
- Appliances and Other Materials:
- Refrigerators: $10.00 for refrigerant removal per appliance.
- There is no disposal fee for used oil, batteries, or other white goods and metals.
- There is no disposal fee for burn pile material.
