Waterford Dump Hours: Everything You Need to Know

If you’re looking to dispose of waste in Waterford, it’s important to be aware of the local dump hours. The Waterford Transfer Station is located at 1000 Hartford Turnpike and is open:

  • Monday & Thursday: 7:30 am to 3:30 pm
  • Saturday: 7:30 am to 12:00 pm

The Waterford Recycling Center is located at 3750 Buena Park Rd and is open:

  • 1st and 3rd Saturday: 8 am to 1 pm

What materials are accepted at the Waterford Transfer Station?

The Waterford Transfer Station accepts a variety of materials, including:

  • Brush: $5 per load for pickup trucks, $10 per load for small dump trucks/small dump trailers (1 to 2 axles), $15 per load for large dump trucks
  • Leaves: Free
  • Furniture: $10 each for sofas, stuffed chairs, mattresses, box springs, carpets
  • Cardboard: Free
  • Construction debris: $110 per ton, $5 minimum charge
  • Appliances: $15 each for refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, $15 each for dehumidifiers
  • Tires: $2 each for passenger tires, $5 each for truck tires 7.50 by 16 and up, $50 each for earth moving equipment tires
  • Drain oil: Free
  • Electronic Equipment: Free for PCs, TVs, VCRs, stereos, speakers, printers
  • Fluorescent Bulbs: Free
  • Mattresses: Free
  • Batteries: Free
  • Motor Oil/Anti Freeze: Free
  • Propane Tanks: Free
  • Metal: Free

What materials are NOT accepted at the Waterford Transfer Station?

The Waterford Transfer Station does not accept the following materials:

  • Regular household trash
  • Bottles and cans
  • Household Hazardous Waste
  • Grass Clippings
  • Rubble, Stone, Concrete, Asphalt, Dirt, Stumps, Rocks

Fees for using the Waterford Transfer Station

There are fees for disposing of certain materials at the Waterford Transfer Station. These fees are as follows:

  • Brush: $5 per load for pickup trucks, $10 per load for small dump trucks/small dump trailers (1 to 2 axles), $15 per load for large dump trucks
  • Construction debris: $110 per ton, $5 minimum charge
  • Appliances: $15 each for refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, $15 each for dehumidifiers
  • Tires: $2 each for passenger tires, $5 each for truck tires 7.50 by 16 and up, $50 each for earth moving equipment tires
  • Logs: $110 per ton
  • Oversized Municipal Solid Waste: $10 each for sofas, stuffed chairs, mattresses, box springs, carpets

Additional information

  • The Waterford Transfer Station is for Waterford residents only. You may be required to show proof of residency with your license or ID with a Waterford address.
  • All fees are due and payable upon invoicing or may be paid immediately upon usage.
  • Accounts over thirty days past due will accrue interest at 1.5% per month.
  • Accounts with a balance due over sixty days will be denied access to the disposal facility.
  • Accounts with a balance over ninety days will be suspended and access to the facility will be denied until the balance is paid in full, and it will be sent to the Town attorney to go to small claims court.
  • The Town of Waterford only accepts cash or checks.
