Hours of Operation
The Brush & Compost Facility is open seasonally from spring to fall. The current hours of operation are:

Fees
The Brush & Compost Facility uses a “pay as you throw” logic, placing the cost of operation on those who use the service. Fees are based on the quantities brought to the site.

Accepted Materials
The Brush & Compost Facility accepts the following materials:
- Grass clippings
- Leaves
- Tree limbs/branches
- Brush
- Chipped material
Prohibited Materials
The following materials are not accepted at the Brush & Compost Facility:
- Household garbage
- Construction debris
- Hazardous materials
- Appliances
- Electronics
- Tires
Additional Information
- Payment in the form of cash or check is accepted at the site. Checks should be made out to City of Grinnell.
- For loads costing less than $20, cash is accepted in denominations of $10 or less.
- For loads costing $20 or more, exact payment is preferred. (No $50 or $100 bills are accepted.)
- If yard waste or brush being deposited is all contained in bags, the individual may pay either the price per bag or the price per vehicle.
- Please cover or otherwise secure your load.
