Central Frontenac operates three waste disposal sites, each with its own hours of operation and accepted items. Here’s a summary of each site:

Accepted and Not Accepted Items

Tipping Fees
If you need to dispose of large loads that are not recyclable, you may be charged a tipping fee. The regular tipping fee is $12.50 per cubic yard, while the bulk waste tipping fee is $25.00 per cubic yard.
Household Hazardous Waste
Most households contain materials that can be hazardous and must be disposed of carefully. Central Frontenac does not accept household hazardous waste at its dump sites. Instead, residents can dispose of these items at the following locations:
- South Frontenac Depot: 2491 Keeley Road, Sydenham, ON. Hours of operation: Thursday from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. (April to October) and 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. (November to March).
- City of Kingston Depot: 70 Lappan’s Lane, Kingston, ON. Hours of operation: Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Garbage Bags
Central Frontenac implemented a clear garbage system in 2011. All loose household garbage must be placed in a Central Frontenac garbage bag. These bags are available for purchase at the Township office and all three waste disposal sites.
Electronic Waste
Electronic waste (e-waste) is accepted at the Mountain Grove Waste Site and the Sharbot Lake Waste Site. Accepted e-waste items include:
- Computers and computer accessories
- Image, audio, and video tapes
- Printing devices
- Telephone equipment
- Televisions
- Vehicle audio and video devices
Scrap Metal and White Goods
Scrap metal and white goods are accepted at all three waste disposal sites. Accepted scrap metal items include:
- BBQs, bicycles, file cabinets, doors, fencing/wire, dismantled swing sets, iron furniture and railings, aluminum lawn chairs, etc.
Accepted white goods items include:
- Refrigerators, freezers, stoves, washers and dryers, hot water tanks, dishwashers, wall ovens, microwave ovens, dehumidifiers, air conditioners.
Tires
Tires are accepted at all three waste disposal sites at no charge.
Batteries
Batteries can be disposed of at both the Mountain Grove Waste Site and the Sharbot Lake Waste Site.

All Central Frontenac waste disposal sites are closed on the following holidays:
