The Jamesville Compost Site is a convenient and affordable option for disposing of your yard waste and food scraps. The site is open to the public from April to November, and offers a variety of services, including:

Hours of Operation

The Jamesville Compost Site is open to the public from April to November, with the following hours of operation:

• Monday – Friday: 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Saturday: 8:00 a.m. to noon

The site is closed on Sundays and holidays.

Fees

There is a fee to use the Jamesville Compost Site. The fees are as follows:

• Compost drop-off: $10 per trunkload
• Mulch sales: $14 per cubic yard for bulk double ground mulch, $16 per cubic yard for bulk premium triple ground mulch
• Yard waste disposal: $20 per pickup truck load, $50 per 6-wheel dump truck load, $50 per 10-wheel dump truck load, $75 per load for all trucks 40 cubic yards or greater
• Food scrap drop-off: Free for residents with a current Compost Site Pass

What is Acceptable

The Jamesville Compost Site accepts the following materials:

• Yard waste: grass clippings, leaves, branches, and other plant material
• Food scraps: fruits, vegetables, meat, and dairy products
• Paper products: newspapers, cardboard, and junk mail
• Wood products: untreated wood chips, sawdust, and wood shavings

What is Not Acceptable

The Jamesville Compost Site does not accept the following materials:

• Hazardous waste: chemicals, paints, and batteries
• Medical waste: syringes, bandages, and other medical supplies
• Construction and demolition debris: drywall, roofing materials, and concrete
• Electronics: computers, TVs, and cell phones
• Appliances: refrigerators, stoves, and washing machines

The Jamesville Compost Site is located at 4370 Route 91 in Jamesville, NY. From Syracuse, take I-81 north to Exit 24 (Jamesville). Turn left onto Route 91 and travel for 1 mile. The compost site will be on your left.
