Waste Site Policies and Programs

Clear Bag Policy for Garbage

All household garbage must be in a clear bag or open container. This helps ensure that recyclable or hazardous waste materials do not end up in landfills. If any recyclable materials or prohibited waste are found within the clear bags, the bags will be refused or the Attendant will ask you to remove and properly sort the waste.

Recycling

Tudor and Cashel Township has a recycling program in effect. Cardboard and paper fibers are to be broken down and bundled. There is a container at the site strictly for these materials. All other recyclable materials are co-mingled. This means that all other recyclable materials can be placed in a clear plastic bag together, such as food and beverage containers.

Illegal Dumping

Illegal dumping is the dumping of waste anywhere except at an approved waste disposal site. This includes in the woods, along the side of the road, on private property, in someone else’s dumpster without permission, or at the gate of a waste management site. Illegal dumping is costly to taxpayers and damaging to the environment. Incidents of illegal dumping are investigated by the Bylaw Enforcement Officer, and offenders could receive fines of $300 per incident.

Household Hazardous Waste Days

Tudor and Cashel Township participates in Household Hazardous Waste Days, which are free events where residents can dispose of hazardous waste materials. These events are typically held in the spring, summer, and fall. For more information and a schedule of upcoming events, visit the Township of Tudor and Cashel website.
