Ivy Material Utilization Center (MUC)
The Ivy Material Utilization Center (MUC) is the primary waste disposal facility in Albemarle County. It offers a wide range of services, including trash disposal, recycling, and compost drop-off.

- Daily Paint Collection: The MUC accepts latex and oil-based paints in original containers on a daily basis.

- Used Cooking Oil Collection: The MUC maintains a bin for collecting used cooking oil.
- Household Food Waste Drop-Off: Residents can drop off compostable food scraps in compostable bags at the MUC.
- Compost and Mulch Sales: The MUC sells bulk compost and free double shredded mulch.
- Encore Shop: The Encore Shop offers reusable items such as doors, windows, furniture, and appliances for resale.
