Carmi Dump Hours
The Carmi dump is open to the public on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to Noon. The dump is closed on Sundays and holidays.
What Materials Are Accepted at the Carmi Dump
The Carmi dump accepts a variety of materials, including:
- Cardboard and paper: Cardboard, newspaper, office paper, magazines, catalogs, phone books, shredded paper, junk mail, manila folders, and envelopes.
- Glass, metal, and plastic: Aluminum and steel cans, glass bottles and jars (all colors), plastic bottles and jugs, pots and pans, metal hangers, aluminum foil, metal items smaller than a toaster, plastic bags, and metal lids.
What Materials Are Not Accepted at the Carmi Dump
The Carmi dump does not accept the following materials:
- Electronics: Electronics can be recycled at the Carmi Electronics Recycling Event, which is held twice a year.
- Hazardous waste: Hazardous waste, such as batteries, paint, and chemicals, should be disposed of at a hazardous waste disposal facility.
- Yard waste: Yard waste can be composted at home or disposed of at the Carmi Yard Waste Site.
Fees
There is no fee to dispose of materials at the Carmi dump.
