Charlotte County Dump Hours and Locations
There are two dumps in Charlotte County: the Mid-County Mini-Transfer & Recycling Facility and the West Charlotte Mini-Transfer & Recycling Facility. Both facilities are open to the public and accept a variety of items, including household trash, yard waste, and construction and demolition debris.
The hours of operation for both facilities are as follows:
- Tuesday – Saturday: 9:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
- Gates close at 3:45 p.m.
- All unloading of waste must be completed by 4:00 p.m., no exceptions.
- Closed for County recognized holidays.
Fees
There are no fees to dispose of household trash at the Charlotte County dump. However, there are fees for disposing of other items, such as yard waste, construction and demolition debris, and tires. The fees are as follows:
- Yard waste: $5 per cubic yard
- Construction and demolition debris: $39.28 per ton (minimum charge is $5)
- Tires: $125.46 per ton in-county and $141.82 per ton out-of-county
What Items Are Accepted
The Charlotte County dump accepts a variety of items, including:

Prohibited Items
The Charlotte County dump does not accept the following items:
- Business or commercial waste
- Firearms/Ammunition
- Perishable waste, such as household garbage
- Yard trimmings in plastic trash bags are prohibited
- E-Waste (schedule an E-Waste pickup with a residential pickup request form)
- No Trailers longer than 12 feet long and wider than 6 feet
Additional Information
- Residents are allowed 12 free visits per fiscal year (October 1-September 30). Recycling and household hazardous waste do not count towards the 12 visits.
- Proof of county residency is required. Residents need to bring a valid form of identification to include name, photo, and local address. Photo identification from other areas must be accompanied by a current utility bill or document showing proof of residency at a Charlotte County residential address. P.O. Box addresses are not accepted as proof of residency.
- Businesses can only participate in the county’s recycling program.
