The Georgefield Dump, officially known as the East Hants Waste Management Centre, is a waste disposal facility located in Hants County, Nova Scotia. It is owned and operated by the Municipality of East Hants and provides various waste management services to the community.

Hours of Operation

The Georgefield Dump is open to the public during the following hours:

• Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (gates close at 3:30 PM)
• Saturday: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM (gates close at 1:30 PM)
• Sundays and Holidays: Closed

What Can You Dispose of at the Georgefield Dump?

The Georgefield Dump accepts a wide range of waste materials, including:

Tipping Fees

The Municipality of East Hants is committed to protecting the environment and minimizing the impact of the Georgefield Dump on the surrounding ecosystem. The facility has a comprehensive environmental monitoring program in place, which includes:

• Quarterly sampling of groundwater and surface water
• Annual toxicology testing of sedimentation pond discharge water
• Aquatic invertebrate assessment of streams located off the site
