Greenfield, WI City Dump: Hours, Regulations, and Accepted Items

Need to dispose of unwanted items in Greenfield, WI? Head to the city’s Drop Off Center, located at 4551 S 52nd Street. This facility accepts a wide range of residential waste, making it a convenient option for residents.

Hours of Operation:

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays: 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  • Saturdays: 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Proof of Residency Required:

To use the Drop Off Center, you must be a Greenfield resident and present a valid ID.

Accepted Items:

  • Refuse/Garbage/Trash
  • Recyclables (empty/flatten cardboard boxes, place other loose recycling in easy-to-empty containers or paper bags)
  • Yard waste (same rules for curbside pick up apply to drop off locations)
  • Antifreeze/Automotive Oil/ Oil Filters/ Absorbents
  • Residential & automotive batteries
  • Electronics
  • Appliances (including Freon) & other scrap metal
  • Tires (can be on or off rim, up to 4 per day)
  • All types of residential use light bulbs

Items Not Accepted:

  • Hazardous waste (contact MMSD at (414) 225-2066 or visit www.mmsd.com for disposal options)

Yard Waste Guidelines:

  • Brush must be less than 6” diameter, bundled in 4’ sections.
  • Place clippings/leaves/garden debris in marked reusable containers or compostable bags, NOT in plastic bags.
  • Place properly contained yard waste at curb away from garbage and recycle carts.
  • Curbside pickup will be bi-weekly on recycle pick up week from April – November.

Electronics Disposal:

  • Electronic items are limited to 5 per month with an annual limit of 20.
  • Residents participating in the Solid Waste Disposal Program may call John’s Disposal once per year to arrange pick-up of an electronic item.

Additional Disposal Options:

  • Find an electronics collection site at the WI DNR’s E-Cycle website.
  • Check out Earth 911’s recycling database to search for more recycling options.
  • Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District accepts old and unused household hazardous waste at their Home Hazmat Collection Sites.

Regulations:

  • The Drop Off Center is for Greenfield residents only.
  • Items must be normally generated by a residential household.
  • The Drop Off Center is not intended for large remodel or landscaping projects, dirt, gravel or stone removal, hazardous waste, landlord/apartment use, or business-generated items.
  • Load size is limited to one full-size pickup truck per day.
