With convenient hours and a wide range of accepted materials, the transfer station makes it easy for residents to keep their community clean and clutter-free.
Transfer Station Hours and Contact Information
The Holderness Transfer Station is open to the public during the following hours:
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday: 8 AM to 4 PM
- Sunday: 1 PM to 4 PM
- Closed on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Holidays

Accepted Materials
The Holderness Transfer Station accepts a wide range of materials, including:
- Household waste: Trash, recyclables, food scraps, and yard waste
- Construction and demolition debris: Wood, metal, drywall, and concrete
- Appliances: Refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, and microwaves
- Electronics: Computers, TVs, cell phones, and printers
- Furniture: Couches, chairs, tables, and beds
- Mattresses and box springs
- Tires (up to 4 per visit)
- Batteries: Lead-acid, button, and lithium-ion batteries
Note: Some materials may require additional fees. Please refer to the Transfer Station Fee Schedule for more information.
Fees
The Holderness Transfer Station charges fees for certain materials, including:
- Construction and demolition debris: $75 per ton
- Appliances: $10 per item
- Electronics: $10 per item
- Furniture: $10 per item
- Mattresses and box springs: $20 per item
- Tires: $5 per tire
Prohibited Materials
The following materials are not accepted at the Holderness Transfer Station:
- Hazardous waste: Chemicals, paints, solvents, and pesticides
- Medical waste: Needles, syringes, and biohazardous materials
- Explosives and ammunition
- Radioactive materials
- Liquids (except in sealed containers)
Tips for Using the Transfer Station
- Sort your materials: Separate recyclables, trash, and hazardous waste before arriving at the transfer station.
- Bring your own containers: Bags, boxes, and tarps can help you transport your materials more easily.
- Be prepared to unload your materials: Staff will not assist with unloading.
- Follow the instructions of the attendant: They will direct you to the appropriate disposal areas.
- Dispose of materials responsibly: Do not litter or leave materials outside of designated containers.
Additional Information
- The Transfer Station offers a Household Hazardous Waste Annual Collection Day on the last Saturday of July.
- Residents can purchase compost and mulch at the Transfer Station.
- The Transfer Station is closed on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Civil Rights Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, and the Friday after Thanksgiving Day.
