Dump Hours

The Roane County Convenience Centers are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, & Saturday.

Hours of Operation:

  • 7:30am to 5:30pm

Please note: All loads requiring payment must be unloaded and paid out before 4:30 pm. The Recycling Center is closed on all legal holidays.

What Can I Dispose of at the Dump?

The Roane County Convenience Centers accept a variety of household waste items, including:

  • Household garbage
  • Cardboard
  • Mixed paper
  • Scrap metal
  • Aluminum
  • Used motor oil and antifreeze
  • Plastic (milk jugs, drink bottles, detergent bottles)
  • Construction and demolition debris
  • Tires
  • Paint (MAX 10 GALLONS) (Accepted at Post Oak Convenience Center every Tuesday from 7:30am to 5:00pm and latex and oil based paints from residents only)

Fees

There are no fees to dispose of household garbage at the Roane County Convenience Centers. However, there are fees for disposing of certain other items, such as:

  • Construction and demolition debris: $75 per ton
  • Brush and wood: $75 per ton
  • Tires: $100 per ton
  • Tires (State Manifested Dealers): $30 per ton
  • Mattress / Box Springs: $25 each
  • Television: $5 per TV
  • Fluorescent Light Bulbs (Residential Only): Free
  • Mulch: $5 per scoop
  • Furniture and Large Items: $45 per ton

Additional Information

  • The Roane County Convenience Centers are for residential use only. No commercial or business waste will be accepted.
  • Please note that Roane County does not accept glass bottles and jars for recycling. Please place glass in with regular household trash.
