Hours of Operation
The Oshkosh City Dump has seasonal hours of operation. From April 1st to November 30th, the dump is open:
- Monday – Friday: 11 am – 7 pm
- Saturday & Sunday: 10 am – 6 pm
From December 1st to March 31st, the dump is open:
- Monday – Friday: 7 am – 3 pm
- Closed on Saturday, Sunday, and holidays
What Materials Are Accepted?
The Oshkosh City Dump accepts the following materials:
- Brush (up to 6 ft in length and 6″ in diameter)
- Grass
- Leaves
- Apples
- Pumpkins
- Walnuts
- Weeds
- Garden debris
What Materials Are Not Accepted?
The Oshkosh City Dump does not accept the following materials:
- Brush larger than 6 feet in length or 6 inches in diameter
- Sod
- Stumps
- Roots
- Dirt
- Rocks, gravel, and concrete
- Lumber or other wood
- Building materials
- Any material classified as garbage
- Any material classified as recyclable
Permits
A permit is required to use the Oshkosh City Dump. The cost of a single vehicle permit is $25 for City of Oshkosh residents and $125 for non-residents. Permits are valid from January 1st to December 31st of the year issued.
Permits can be purchased at the following locations:
- Collection counter at City Hall (215 Church Avenue)
- Kitz and Pfeil Ace Hardware (427 North Main Street)
Additional Information
- All loads that are transported in an open truck bed or trailer must be secured with a tarp.
- Yard waste from commercial operations, including tree trimmers, landscapers, and apartment buildings, is not permitted at the dump.
- Used motor oil may be dropped off at the dump during regular hours. No permit is required.
- Mulch is available on a self-serve basis during regular dump hours. A dump permit is not necessary.
