Silverdale Dump Hours

The Silverdale Recycling and Garbage Facility is open to the public Thursday – Tuesday, from 8:30 am to 4 pm. The facility is closed on Wednesdays.

Accepted Materials

The Silverdale Recycling and Garbage Facility accepts a variety of materials, including:

  • Garbage
  • Recycling
  • Limited household hazardous waste

Garbage

Garbage must be unloaded by hand – no tipping from dump trucks or trailers. Fees are based on size and volume, not weight:

  • 32 gallons = 1 can: $14 for the first can, tax included
  • 64 gallons = 2 cans: $9 for each additional can, tax included
  • 96 gallons = 3 cans: $9 for each additional can, tax included
  • Loose garbage: $52.79 per cubic yard plus tax

Recycling

Recyclables must be empty, clean, dry, and loose. No bagged items, plastic bags and wrap, Styrofoam, or shredded paper.

The following items are collected at no charge:

  • Plastic bottles, jugs, jars, and dairy tubs (no lids)
  • Cardboard (flat)
  • Paper (mail, magazines and catalogs, newspaper, office paper, phone books, paperboard boxes, etc.)
  • Metal cans (no loose lids)
  • Glass bottles and jars (no lids)
  • Scrap metal (no fluids or batteries)
  • Clothing (dry)

Limited Household Hazardous Waste

The following household hazardous waste items are accepted for no charge from residents:

  • Antifreeze from personal vehicles (5-gallon limit per day)
  • Motor oil from personal vehicles (5-gallon limit per day)
  • Batteries (small household batteries (alkaline, button, rechargeable), vehicle batteries less than 50 lbs.)
  • Compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) (limit 10 CFLs per day, per person)
  • Needles/sharps (limit three containers per day)

Restricted Items

The following items are not accepted at the Silverdale Recycling and Garbage Facility:

  • Asbestos
  • Batteries over 50 lbs.
  • Commercial appliances
  • Fuel
  • Fluorescent tubes
  • Garbage containing fluids or batteries
  • Hazardous wastes other than those accepted
  • Liquids
  • Medication
  • TVs, computers, monitors, laptops, tablets, e-readers, portable DVD players
  • Paint
  • Propane tanks
  • Tires
  • Vehicles, vehicle parts, motors, engine parts, riding lawnmowers, trailers

Safety

  • Secure your load for safer roads.
  • No smoking, vaping, or cell phone use
