Spokane City Dump Hours: A Comprehensive Guide for Waste Disposal
Spokane residents have access to convenient and environmentally responsible waste disposal options at the Waste to Energy Facility and two additional transfer stations operated by Spokane County. This guide provides detailed information on the hours of operation, fees, and materials accepted at these facilities.
Waste to Energy Facility
Address: 2900 S. Geiger Blvd, Spokane, WA 99208
Hours of Operation:
- 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 7 days a week
Fees:
- Recyclables Drop Off: FREE
- Household Hazardous Waste Disposal: FREE
- Trash Disposal: $132.62 per ton, with a minimum charge of $21.67 for up to 320 pounds, plus a $2.33 self-haul transaction fee per vehicle.
- Self-hauled Clean Green/Yard Waste Debris Rates: $66.88 per ton, with a minimum charge of $7.12 for up to 200 pounds, plus a $2.33 self-haul transaction fee per vehicle.
Materials Accepted:
- Recyclables: Clean, dry recyclable materials such as glass bottles and jars, most types of paper, aluminum cans and foil, other metal cans, and small pieces of scrap metal.
- Household Hazardous Waste: Items that would be considered dangerous or hazardous, such as paint thinners, pesticides, oven cleaners, and batteries.
- Yard Debris: Food and food-soiled paper, leaves, grass clippings, bark, weeds, twigs, pine needles, pine cones, limbs not more than 6-feet long and 3 inches in diameter, and sod not more than 3 inches thick.
- Trash: Items that don’t fit in any of the above categories.
Spokane County North Transfer Station
Address: 22123 N. Elk-Chattaroy Road, Colbert, WA 99005
Hours of Operation:
- Winter Hours (November 1 through March 31): 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday – Friday; 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday – Sunday
- Seasonal Hours (April 1 through October 31): 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday; 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday – Sunday
Fees:
- Trash/Garbage: $125.40 per ton (plus a $3 EPC per vehicle)
- Clean Green and Yard Waste Debris: $60.50 per ton (plus a $3 EPC per vehicle)
Materials Accepted:
- Trash
- Recycling
- Household Hazardous Waste (only on Saturdays and Sundays)
Spokane County Valley Transfer Station

Tips for Visiting Spokane City Dump Facilities
- Bring proper identification.
- Make sure your loads are covered with a tarp or secured with a rope or other means to prevent spillage.
- If material types are mixed, such as yard waste in the same load with recyclables, they must be separated before disposal or you will need to dispose of the load as garbage.
- Expect longer wait times at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. when the floor is being cleared.
