Landfill Hours
The St. Joseph Landfill is open to the public during the following hours:
- Monday through Friday: 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Saturday (Only 1st of the Month): 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Holiday Schedule
The landfill is closed on the following holidays:
- New Year’s Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
Landfill Fees
The St. Joseph Landfill charges a tipping fee for the disposal of solid waste. The current tipping fee rates are as follows:
- Residential waste: $45 per ton
- Commercial waste: $55 per ton
- Construction and demolition debris: $65 per ton
Accepted Waste
The St. Joseph Landfill accepts the following types of waste:
- Household waste
- Commercial waste
- Construction and demolition debris
- Yard waste
- Tires
- White goods
Prohibited Waste
The St. Joseph Landfill does not accept the following types of waste:
- Hazardous waste
- Radioactive waste
- Medical waste
- Explosives

Recycling Center
The St. Joseph Recycling Center is located at 3405 South Belt Highway. The recycling center is open to the public during the following hours:
- Wednesday through Saturday: 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The recycling center accepts the following materials:
- Aluminum
- Clear and brown glass
- Colored HDPE plastics (marked with a #1 on the bottom of the container)
- Corrugated cardboard boxes
- Magazines
- Mixed office paper
- Natural HDPE plastics (marked with a #2 on the bottom of the container)
- Newspaper
- Tin
