Temple Landfill Hours of Operation
The Temple Landfill is open to the public during the following hours:
- March 13th 2023- November 5th 2023:
- Monday – Friday: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Saturday: 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- Sunday: CLOSED
- November 6th 2023- March 10th 2024:
- Monday – Friday: 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Saturday: 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Fees
The fees for disposing of waste at the Temple Landfill vary depending on the type of waste and the amount of waste. For more information on fees, please contact the landfill directly.
Guidelines for Residents
City of Temple residents may take one pickup load of general household waste per month to the landfill for free. To qualify for this free disposal, residents must show their water utility bill showing the garbage rate. The water utility bill must be dated within the past 60 days, and the load must be no more than the capacity of a pickup load.
Guidelines for Non-Residents
Non-residents must pay a fee to dispose of waste at the Temple Landfill. The minimum charge to dispose of a load is $54.43 plus a $0.94 State Fee.
Safety Guidelines
For the safety of all visitors, the following safety guidelines must be followed:
- All loads must be fully covered and tarped.
- Individuals unloading materials must wear a reflective safety vest.
- Smoking is not permitted in the landfill.
- Children are not permitted in the landfill.
