Yakima Dump Hours: Everything You Need to Know
Yakima County operates two landfills: Terrace Heights Landfill and Cheyne Landfill. Both landfills are open to the public for disposal of garbage, yard waste, and wood waste.
Landfill Hours
- Terrace Heights Landfill
- Monday – Friday: 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Cheyne Landfill
- Monday – Friday: 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Fees
The tipping fee at the county landfills and transfer station is $44 per ton, with a $11 minimum, for disposing garbage. Clean yard and wood waste is charged a discounted fee of $22 per ton, with a $7 minimum fee.
Accepted Materials
The landfills accept the following materials:
- Garbage
- Yard waste
- Wood waste
- Tires
- Appliances
- Septage
- Asbestos
Prohibited Materials
The landfills do not accept the following materials:
- Hazardous waste
- Medical waste
- Radioactive waste
- Explosives
- Flammable liquids
- Corrosive materials
Special Handling Fees
There are special handling fees for the following materials:
- Deceased animals: $62.50 per ton
- Asbestos: $85.50 per ton
- Unsecured loads: $11 per yard for loads up to 3 yards, $23 per yard for loads over 3 yards

The landfills accept cash, Visa, or MasterCard only. No checks.
