Organic Yard Waste Facility
The Organic Yard Waste Facility is located at 2200 Greenwood Street in Yorktown. It is open to Yorktown residents without commercial license plates, and proof of residency is required. The facility accepts tree branches, logs (max 3′ x 2′), leaves, and grass clippings. Logs over 3′ x 2′ and tree stumps are not accepted.
Hours of Operation:
- Monday – Friday: 7:30 am – 2:45 pm (mid-April – mid November)
- Saturdays: 7:30 am – 2:45 pm (mid April – mid November)
Refuse & Recycling Collection
Refuse and recycling are collected curbside on a weekly basis. The collection schedule is divided into seven sections, and each section has a specific collection day. To find your collection day, use the “Find My Section” tool on the Refuse & Recycling website.
Bulk Trash Collection
Bulk trash is collected four times per year. The collection schedule is as follows:

Drop-Off Days
The following items can be dropped off at the Refuse & Recycling Center located at 5 Captain Kenneth Sgroi Plaza in Yorktown Heights:
- E-waste: First Saturday of each month, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
- Textiles: Second Saturday of each month, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
- Car tires: Third Saturday of each month, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
Food Scrap Drop-Off Site
The Food Scrap Drop-Off Site is located at the Refuse & Recycling Center. It is open to Yorktown residents only, and proof of residency is required. The site accepts food scraps, including fruits, vegetables, meat, and dairy products.
Hours of Operation:
- Monday – Friday: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
- Saturday: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
